Bamberg County to Host Patriotic Parade April 14, 2018

Bamberg, South Carolina (January 2018) – Bamberg County announced it will host a parade to honor the Carlisle Military School reunion and as a kickoff event for the new Bamberg County Veteran’s Trail. The parade and Veteran’s Trail groundbreaking will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

 

Carlisle Military School alumni will gather in Bamberg on Saturday, April 14 to celebrate CMS. In honor of this alumni gathering, Bamberg County will host a patriotic parade and unveil the new Bamberg County Veteran’s Trail. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the site of the former Bamberg County Hospital and end at the Ness Sports Complex.  The parade will include special events including a fly over by Celebrate Freedom COBRA helicopter and the Special Forces parachute team will jump into the Ness Complex.

 

Residents are encouraged to participate in the parade by marching or spectating. Parade participant forms are available on the Bamberg County website (www.bambergcounty.sc.gov). Copies are also available at the Administration Office in the Bamberg County Courthouse Annex at 1234 North St, Bamberg. Participants are asked to return registration packets no later than April 5, 2018.

 

“This parade is a great opportunity to honor Carlisle Military School graduates,” said Trent Kinard, Bamberg County Vice Chairman. “Bamberg County has strong ties to the various branches of the U.S. military. We are proud to support this new event in Bamberg County that will bring the community together. We encourage parents to bring your children to this exciting parade, it will be different than any other parade in Bamberg County. ”

 

The groundbreaking for the new Bamberg County Veteran’s Trail will be held at 3:30 p.m. on April 14. The new Bamberg County Veteran’s Trail will be on Railroad Avenue in Bamberg. The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking to learn more about the Veteran’s Trail.
