DETENTION OFFICER, FULL-TIME
Bamberg County Detention Center
Applications are being accepted in the Human Resources Office - Room 102, Bamberg County Courthouse ANNEX, for the position of Detention Officer (FULL-TIME) for Bamberg County Detention Center.

 

Qualified applicants must possess a valid S.C. Driver's License, High School Diploma, have no Criminal Record, be at least 21 years old, and have a home telephone. A medical examination is required for employment. The person hired will be required to become certified by the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. The officer will be required to work different shifts and on weekends.

ADDRESSING TECHNICIAN/COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Bamberg County Emergency Services
Pay Grade 10 (Salary Range: $21,071 – $31,606)

 

Bamberg County is seeking an Addressing Technician/Communications Coordinator. 

Qualified applicants must possess a 2 year degree or graduate from high school or GED equivalent with college coursework including surveying, drafting, Geographic Information System or computer related courses.

 

Experience in performing general office duties; involving property descriptions, maintain addressing GIS layer; and dealing with the general public in a customer service aspect.  Computer experience including; installation/ setup and software installation and updates/configuration skills. The person hired will be responsible for issuing all new E911 addresses, making and installing all E911 Street signs, and replacing all missing and damaged street signs.  Manage & Coordinate all communications equipment.  Candidate must have the ability to work with other agencies and the public regarding addressing issues. Individuals must possess a valid S.C. Driver’s License.

ACCOUNTANT II

Bamberg County Finance Department

Pay Grade 14 (Salary Range: $28,734 - $40,320)

 

Bamberg County is seeking an Accountant II to assist the County Controller in coordinating County finances, accounting, and reporting, to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and other regulatory requirements.  Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance or closely-related field, minimum of one-year experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or closely-related field, prior experience in governmental accounting preferred.  Experience with audit activities and managing reporting, budget analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and accounting for grants.

 

The person hired will be responsible to oversee County’s Debt Set-Off program, requiring coordination with multiple County offices and departments, including the Treasurer, Delinquent Tax Collector, Magistrate, Clerk of Court, and Public Works/Solid Waste. 

 

Assists Controller and Finance Director in preparation of annual operating and capital budget.  Work consists of collecting and summarizing departmental budget requests, meeting with department heads to gather sufficient details to support annual budget requests, and preparing information for budget presentations.  Analyzes monthly revenue and expenditures, comparing actual results to the budget.  Keeps Controller and Finance Director informed of any unusual transactions and of any line-items in the budget that are overspent.  Responsible for aiding the Controller in maintaining the County’s capital asset records, inputting all assets into the County’s fixed asset system, and maintaining the records by adding and/or deleting records as assets are acquired or retired. Codes invoices to proper budgetary accounts and processes appropriate documentation to aid Controller and Finance Director in the approval process of invoices.  Also, work with vendors to resolve issues on invoices and perform research on purchase history of certain vendors.
