Q:  Where does my garbage go?

A:  Bamberg County accepts and processes municipal solid waste at its transfer station.  Waste is placed in a transfer trailer where it is hauled to an approved Class 3 landfill located in Aiken County.

Q:  Can you waive my tipping fees?

A:  Fees cannot be waived without the approval of the County Administrator.

Q:  Do you provide residential curbside garbage collection?

A: Bamberg County does not provide residential curbside garbage collection.   The county does operate eight convenience centers located strategically across the county for residential waste disposal.  Facilities are also available at the landfill for disposal of household garbage.

Q:  What are the current tipping fees?

A:  Currently the tipping fee for municipal solid waste is $50.00 per ton.  The disposal fee for construction, demolition, and land clearing debris is $45.00 per ton. The Bamberg County Council establishes fees.

Q:  What are the hours of operation of the landfill?

A:  The landfill is open Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm.

Q:  What are the hours of operation for the convenience sites?

A:  All convenience sites, except Broxton Bridge Road site, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The Broxton Bridge Road site is open Monday - Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
