Bamberg, South Carolina (March 2018) – Bamberg County Department of Public Works provided an update on county road projects to be completed with state C-Fund dollars. The recent update is for three rural dirt road projects: Dally Road, Crouch Circle/Panther Road, and Gum Tree Road. The project is being coordinated by Alliance Engineering in Columbia, SC.
To date, Alliance Engineering has submitted permit requests for each project to SC Department of Health and Environmental Control and SC Department of Transportation. Additionally, a permit request has been submitted to CSX Corporation for Dally Road. All projects have been advertised. Bids for construction are being accepted until April 19, 2018.
“Bamberg County values our rural lifestyle, but we also are making progress in upgrading some of our dirt roads,” said Larry Haynes, Bamberg County Councilman. “The county is working diligently to ensure that the projects are done correctly to benefit its residents, especially the citizens who live on these roads. These road projects can be time consuming because of delays from the state, obtaining right-of-ways from property owners, and the permitting process is complicated. I thank Bamberg County staff and Alliance Engineering for the progress they have made with these projects.”
For more information about these road projects, email info@bambergcounty.sc.gov. Construction start time will be determined after the bidding process is completed. Bamberg County will provide updates as they are available.
