Department Functions

Bamberg County Emergency Services is responsible for coordination and operation of a county-wide, multi-hazard disaster preparedness program and helps to prevent the loss of life and property damage throughout Bamberg County attributable to all-natural and man-made disasters.

We help to reduce human suffering and enhance Bamberg County's capability to recover from a natural or man-made disaster by providing the coordination of services and by improving the relationships with Federal, State, and county agencies, local governments, volunteer organizations, and the private sector to develop effective partnerships to prepare for, respond to and recover from natural or man-made disasters.

Finally, we work daily to enhance Bamberg County's ability to develop, maintain, coordinate, and lead emergency management activities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural or man-made disasters.
