As part of the Tax Collector's pursuit of delinquent taxes, multiple delinquent programs are utilized; the delinquent tax sale and the use of a third party collection agency, American Financial Credit Services (AFCS), which specializes in governmental debt recovery.
If a business personal property account becomes delinquent, a notice will be sent to the address on record with the county, advising them that the Treasurer's Office will be submitting the debt to a third-party collection agency.
Please make sure we have your most current mailing address. If you need to update your mailing address, you may do so in person at the Bamberg County Annex, 1234 North St, Bamberg, SC on Mondays-Fridays, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The account will also be advertised in the newspaper and listed on our website. The taxpayer will have 30 days from the date of the initial notice to pay before the account is submitted to AFCS for collection. Once submitted, the account must be paid through AFCS.
