Bamberg County Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Event, Inspiring Support and Raising Funds for the American Cancer Society
BAMBERG, SC — October 31, 2024 — Bamberg County proudly acknowledges the dedicated efforts of its employees in raising awareness and support for breast cancer survivors and research at a special Breast Cancer Awareness event on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Organized by the Human Resources Committee members and Human Resources Director Ruthie Brown, the event featured inspiring survivor stories and successfully raised $650 for the American Cancer Society.
Ms. Eva Walker and Mr. Casey Rivers, both cancer survivors, shared their inspiring journeys with Bamberg County employees. Through personal stories of resilience and hope, Walker and Rivers underscored the importance of early detection, support networks, and continued advancements in cancer treatment. Their testimonies resonated deeply with attendees, sparking moments of reflection, solidarity, and encouragement for those impacted by breast cancer.
Director Ruthie Brown, who led the event, expressed gratitude to everyone who participated and donated to the cause. “Breast cancer affects so many lives, and bringing our team together for awareness and support is not only about raising funds but also about strengthening our community and showing survivors they are not alone,” she said.
The event’s fundraising efforts will directly support the American Cancer Society’s mission to advance research, provide patient support, and promote early detection initiatives. Bamberg County is proud to support this cause and remains committed to raising awareness and offering encouragement to individuals and families touched by breast cancer.
