Re: Clemson Rural Health and MUSC to Provide Free Cancer Screenings to Eligible Bamberg County Citizens
Bamberg, South Carolina (September 2024) – In October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bamberg County Council and Administration will welcome Clemson Rural Health and MUSC when they bring their mobile cancer screening units to the Health Department. Both events will be sponsored by Best Chance Network.
Clemson Rural Health will be at the Bamberg County Health Department on October 21 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Free breast and pelvic cancer screenings, Pap/HPV tests, diagnostic tests for abnormal Ultrasound, MRI, etc. results, and colorectal screening will be available for eligible women (i.e. those living in SC, ages 21-64 who have limited or no diagnostic health insurance or who meet the income requirements). Additionally, prostate cancer and colorectal screenings will also be available for eligible men.
Likewise, MUSC will also visit Bamberg in October, and their mobile unit will be at the Bamberg County Health Department on October 29 from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Free screenings and mammograms will be provided. For services lasting 15 minutes or longer, participants will need to make an appointment by calling MUSC at 803-395-2841.
