Bamberg, South Carolina (June 2024) — Keep Bamberg County Beautiful expresses sincere appreciation to City of Denmark Councilwoman Rosa James and Keep Bamberg County Beautiful board member Detra Bruce for inviting us to participate in the City of Denmark Summer Recreation Program hosted by Denmark Technical College. We are grateful for the chance to interact with young individuals and share insights on sustainable practices.

The program’s commitment to sustainable living practices and education shone brightly as kids aged six to sixteen gathered in the gym to learn about environmental stewardship. Keep Bamberg County Beautiful Executive Director Alisha Moore had the privilege of sharing insights on sustainability, empowering the youth to embark on their journey as eco-superheroes.

Moore’s interactive question-and-answer session illuminated how simple daily actions can yield profound impacts. From reducing waste to repurposing items through recycling and creativity, the children discovered their potential to effect positive change even on their level that powerfully impacts their communities and beyond!

“Teaching our youth about sustainability is paramount to cultivating a brighter, greener future,” remarked Alisha Moore. “It was a lot of fun listening to the kids share their ideas about recycling; however, more importantly, it was truly inspiring to witness their enthusiasm and eagerness to embrace eco-friendly habits. Together, we’re fostering a generation of conscientious stewards.”

The collaboration between Keep Bamberg County Beautiful and the City of Denmark Summer Recreation Program is a testament to the power of community partnerships in fostering environmental consciousness. By promoting a culture of sustainability, we are laying the foundation for a prosperous and resilient future for our community.
