Bamberg, South Carolina (April 2018) – Keep Bamberg County Beautiful announced it will be sponsoring a Bamberg County Cleanup Blitz from April 21 – April 28, 2018. Individuals and groups are encouraged to choose a location anywhere in Bamberg County to conduct a litter clean-up. Litter pickups reported to KBCB will be eligible to be entered into a raffle to win prizes.

Keep America Beautiful sponsors the national Great American Cleanup from March – May every year. In addition, Earth Day is observed on April 22, 2018. In honor of these two events, KBCB is hosting a litter clean-up effort in Bamberg County. Residents are encouraged to gather friends, family, and community groups to participate in removing litter from the county.

All participants in the Bamberg County Cleanup Blitz are eligible to be entered into a raffle for prizes including t-shirts, reusable shopping bags, hats, water bottles, and one of five $100 Visa gift cards. The Visa gift cards were generously donated by a Bamberg County resident who is supportive of reducing litter and encouraging individuals to participate in litter pickups in Bamberg County. To enter the raffle, send a picture with a summary of how many bags were collected to Mary Tilton (contact info below). For each bag of litter removed from Bamberg County, one raffle ticket will be earned. The raffle will be drawn on Friday, May 4 and winners will be notified by email and/or phone.

Keep Bamberg County Beautiful can provide clean-up equipment if needed: trash bags, plastic gloves, safety vests, and litter sticks.  KBCB can also suggest areas that are in need of a cleanup.
