Potential Flooding Alert for Residents Along the Edisto River

(Bamberg, South Carolina) - The Bamberg County Government is issuing an urgent advisory for residents living along the Edisto River. Due to recent heavy rainfall, there is significant potential risk of flooding in the area over the next few days.

Residents are urged to stay alert and monitor local news for updates. Rising water levels could pose a serious threat to life and property. If waters begin to rise to dangerous levels, residents should evacuate immediately to ensure their safety.

Safety Measures and Resources:

• Sandbags: To help protect property, sandbags are available at the Emergency Operations Center in Bamberg address 2983 Main Highway, Bamberg SC. 29003. Please be prepared to fill and transport the sandbags yourself.
• Shelters: Should evacuation become necessary, a shelter has been established and the location will be released in the event an evacuation takes place. Necessities and a safe place to stay until conditions improve are provided.

• Stay Informed: Stay tuned to local news, radio broadcasts, and the official Bamberg County Government social media Facebook page for the latest updates.
• Be Prepared: Have an emergency kit ready, include essential items such as medications, important documents, and basic supplies.
