FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Small Business Association (SBA) issued the following news release regarding the Disaster Loan Outreach (DLOCs)

WASHINGTON – South Carolina businesses and residents affected by Tropical Storm Debby on Aug. 4-22 are eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman announced today.

Administrator Guzman made the loans available in response to a letter from South Carolina Governor Henry Dargan McMaster on Sept. 16 requesting an SBA disaster declaration. Businesses and residents in the declared area can now apply for low-interest disaster loans from the SBA.

The declaration includes the primary counties of Berkeley and Orangeburg and the adjacent counties of Aiken, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, Charleston, Clarendon, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Lexington, and Williamsburg in South Carolina.

“The SBA is strongly committed to providing the people of South Carolina with the most effective and customer-focused response possible to assist businesses of all sizes, homeowners and renters with federal disaster loans,” said Guzman. “Getting businesses and communities up and running after a disaster is our highest priority at SBA.”

The SBA will open Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) at the Berkeley County Administration Building in Moncks Corner and the Bowman Library in Bowman to assist businesses and residents in completing their disaster loan applications, accepting documents, and providing updates on an application’s status. Walk-ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment at an SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center in advance. The Centers will operate as indicated below.
